It is largely a matter of consensus that media literacy and media education beyond serve the mature and critical use of media offerings. On closer inspection, however, very different regional, national and transnational situational assessments, areas of responsibility and responsibilities as well as criticisms and ideas for the transformation of learning cultures can be found. The interdisciplinary volume deals with current and future-oriented objectives of media education and provides answers to the question of media education.
Es ist weithin Minimalkonsens, dass Medienkompetenzvermittlung und darüber hinausgehende Medienbildung der mündigen und kritischen Nutzung medialer Angebote dient. Bei näherer Betrachtung sind allerdings sehr unterschiedliche regionale, nationale und transnationale Situationseinschätzungen, Aufgabenbereiche und Zuständigkeiten sowie Kritikverständnisse und Ideen zur Transformation von Lernkulturen anzutreffen.
