De behoefte aan modernisering van het toezicht, het bezuinigen op overheidsuitgaven, de discussie over overheidsbemoeienis en de afweging tussen veiligheid en economische belangen, hebben in de loop der jaren tot vele veranderingen in het toezicht geleid. De serie WRR-webpublicaties omvat studies die in het kader van de werkzaamheden van de WRR tot stand zijn gekomen.
