Hieruit blijkt dat over de hoofdlijnen betrekkelijk eensluidend wordt gedacht. Veelal wordt uitgegaan van voortzetting van zich voordoende trends. De WRR zou op cruciale gebieden aanvullend toekomstonderzoek dienen te verrichten. Deze thematische toekomstverkenningen zou men kunnen zien als eigentijdse vervangers van de eerdere, omvattende toekomstverkenningen. Hiernaast zou de WRR de forumfunctie verder inhoud kunnen geven. De WRR is een geschikt platform voor de vervulling van een spilfunctie binnen overheid, wetenschap en samenleving. | ||
