"How normal is the norm?" is the title of a research project on the relation of "sprachpflegerischer Normpostulat" and "Normbewusstheit" of the German language. The present volume assembles the findings of the linguistic research undertaken in the project.

"Wie normal ist die Norm?" lautete der Titel eines Projekts, das das Verhältnis von sprachpflegerischem Normpostulat und Normbewusstheit der Sprachgemeinschaft zum Gegenstand hatte. Der Frage nach dem Status von sprachlichen Normen in der Sprachgemeinschaft wurde am Beispiel von grammatischen Zweifelsfällen wie Anfang diesen/dieses Jahres oder gewunken/gewinkt nachgegangen.
