The Department of Political Science at the University of Innsbruck celebrated the 40th anniversary of its founding in 2017. This Festschrift takes stock of the department's past and present from professional and personal perspectives, and identifies challenges and perspectives for its future development. The authors address milestones in the foundational phase of the department, the transformation in human resources and infrastructure, and changes in the culture of research and study programs at the department. These perspectives multiple insights into the experiences of colleagues and students at our department.

Das Institut für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Innsbruck feierte im Jahr 2017 das 40. Jahr seines Bestehens. Die Festschrift nimmt dieses Jubiläum zum Anlass, Geschichte und Gegenwart des Instituts aus professioneller und persön­licher Sicht zu betrachten sowie Herausforderungen und Perspektiven seiner ­weiteren Entwicklungen zu verorten. Die Autorinnen und Autoren beleuchten dabei die Wegmarken der Gründungs- und Aufbauphase des Instituts, den Wandel in der Personal- und Infrastruktur sowie Veränderungen in der Forschungskultur und den Studienprogrammen. Die Zusammenschau der aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln verfassten Beiträge ermöglicht vielfältige Einblicke in Erfahrungen und Erlebnisse als KollegInnen und Studierende am Institut.
