Description
Summary:How are climate changes impacting daily life and economic wellbeing? How do people perceive renewable energy solutions? The inaugural African edition of the European Investment Bank Climate Survey provides some insights. The majority of Africans report that climate changes are already having repercussions on their everyday lives and income. What Africans think: 88% believe that climate changes are already impacting their daily lives 61% think that climate changes and environmental harm have affected their incomes or livelihoods 76% believe a priority should be given to renewable energiesThe survey results came at a critical moment for Africa, following COP 27, where the central issues were finding more resources to mitigate global warming and adapting to its effects. A decisive agreement was also made on a new "loss and damage" fund for vulnerable countries severely hurt by climate disasters.Read the full survey to discover how people in Africa view climate change's impact on their livelihood, their perspective on renewable energy, and their expectations from government policies in their daily lives.
