The guidelines used for comparison include the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), American College of Physicians (ACP), American Cancer Society/American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology/American Society for Clinical Pathology (ACS/ASCCP/ASCP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines, Singapore guidelines, National Health Service (NHS) Guidelines, The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care, Society Of Obstetricians And Gynecologists Of Canada, World Health Organization (WHO), and The European Guidelines For Quality Assurance In Cervical Cancer Screening. As there is no universal screening guideline that is currently agreed upon, this article serves to highlight the key differences and resemblances between those guidelines with regards to the age of screening initiation and cessation, the screening intervals and management of abnormal screening results. Comparisons are made in the discussion, presented as individual tables, and comparison tables with regards to cytology and histology.

Tables summarizing the different guidelines available regarding screening for cervical cancer.
| ||
