Description
Summary:Araucaria hunsteneii fibres were used as fillers in the manufacturing of wood fibre-polypropylene composite. Fibre content of 5, 10, 15 and 20% and a MAPP addition of 3% were used in the study. The results indicate that fibre content significantly affected the mechanical and water absorption properties while with MAPP addition no significant improvement was observed. Araucaria hunsteneii fibres could be used as fillers in the manufacturing of thermoplastic composite.
