Purpose: the aim of this study was to know antimicrobial activity of turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica) against fish pathogenic bacteria. Methods: Design of this study was complete random design with nine variations of turmeric extract consentration (5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, 15%, 17.5%, 20%, 22.5% and 25%). Inhibitory effect of turmeric extract against fish pathogenic bacteria was classified into 3 categories which were low effect, mild effect , and strong effect. Analysis of data using one way ANOVA test followed by LSD (Least of Significant Difference). Results: Results of this study showed that variatons of concentration that had low inhibitory effect were 7.5%, 20% and 22.5% in Staphylococcus saphropyticus, 22.5% in Pseudomonas aerugenosa, 12 to 17.5 % in Bacillus alvei, 10 to 17.5% in Bacillus licheniformis 10% to 17.5% in Staphylococcus saphropyticus, and 20 and 25% in Pseudomonas aerugenosa. Variations of concentration of tumeric exract that had strong inhibitory effect were 20-25% in Bacillus cereus. MIC a lest result showed that there was turbidity (positive) in all of concentrations and MBC test result showed that there was not any concentration that had bactericidal effect. Conclusion: Oneway Anova test result showed that all variations of concentration of turmeric extract had significant inhibition effect in Staphylococcus saphropyticus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and had not significant inhibitory effect in Bacillus cereus, Bacillus alvei and Bacillus licheniformis.
