Summary:Hypertension is a disorder of the circulatory system, which is quite a lot of disturbing public health. At one nonpharmacological therapy strategies for lowering blood pressure is in the breathing exercises. A relaxation breathing exercise in soul and body that can be added in a variety of routines in order to get a relaxing effect. The purpose of this study is whether there is influence of deep breathing exercises to changes in blood pressure in patients with hypertension in the Karas Region District Magetan. This study uses a Quasi Experiment Design with study design Control Time Series Design, which in this study using two groups were divided into experimental group and control group. Sample size was 80 respondents, 40 respondents to the eksperiment and 40 respondents to the control group. Data processing techniques using analytical techniques Test Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test, where Hο rejected if p-value ≤ 0.05. This study shows that siastolik and diastolic blood pressure in the experimental group showed a significant decrease in the time before and after a workout gets a deep breath, where the p-value = 0.000 systolic and diastolic p-value = 0.000. While the comparison of the experimental group and the control group at post-test comparisons which are in the experimental group than the blood pressure decreased blood pressure in the control group with p-value = 0.003 systolic and diastolic p-value = 0.000. In conclusion can differences in blood pressure in hypertensive patients after doing deep breathing exercises.
