Besides, there are many theories which support the language development. One of them is the major theories of learning principle which applied in teaching learning process of English in Islamic Boarding School Gontor for Girl 3. The main purpose of the research is to describe (1) Kind of learning principles found in teaching learning process of English at Islamic Boarding School Gontor for Girl 3, (2) the frequency of learning principles in teaching learning process of English, and (3) the dominant theory of learning principles applied in teaching learning process of English. This study is a qualitative research with an ethnography approach. This research is conducted at Islamic Boarding School Gontor for Girl 3 Karangbanyu Widodaren Ngawi East Java. The informants of the research wereEnglish teachers, class assistents, and students of eight grades Gontor for girl 3. The techniques of data collection are through interview, in-depth observation, and documentation. The results of the research show that (1) there are four major kinds of learning principles theory applied in teaching learning process of English at Islamic Boarding School Gontor for girl 3, they are: Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Humanism, and Constructivism; (2) the frequency of learning principles used during teaching learning process are 50,3% of Behaviorism, 30,2% of Cognitivism, 11,6% of Humanism and 7,9% of Constructivism; and (3) the dominant theory among all theories applied was Behaviorism and it pattern drills such as repetition, completion, inflection, transformation and restoration. This theory purposed to attain students' fluency in speaking with correct pronunciation. Italso hoped students to build the habitation of the self and experience their knowledge in their daily life time.
