Description
Summary:Musculoskeletal pain is a symptom that is mostly being beefed about by patient and still as an interesting topic to be discussed until this day. Some of them are caused by fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). One of method that can be initiated is INIT and massage efflurage. Both of those therapy are expected to be able to give differences of influence in cases of fibriomyalgia syndrome on m. upper trapezius. The purposes of this research are to understand the influence of INIT and massage efflurage in reducing pain and increasing the functional ability on FSM upper trapezius muscle patient and to know the side-effect differences between INIT and massage efflurage in reducing the pain and increasing the functional capability on FSM upper trapezius muscle patients. This research is an experimental research using the program of two groups pre-test and post-test design. This research is taken with purposive random sampling technique. The subject is 12 people, divided into two groups. Both are treated three times a week for three weeks, 15 minutes each time. The data analysis technique used is the T-test with the reliance level is 95%. The research result on hypothesis 1 test on group 1 shows the value of p= 0.026 for VDS and p = 0.027 for NDI (p < 0.05) which means that there is a significant influence of INIT therapy in reducing pain and increasing the functional ability toward upper trapezius muscles FMS. Hypothesis test on group 2 shows that the value of p = 0.026 for VDS and p = 0.043 for NDI (p < 0.05) which means that there is a significant influence of massage efflurage in reducing pain and increasing functional ability toward upper trapezius muscles FMS. Hypothesis 2 shows the value of p = 0.432 for VDS and p = 0.0317 for NDI (p > 0.05) which means that there is no significant influence difference between INIT and massage efflurage therapy in reducing pain and increasing functional ablity toward upper trapezius muscles FMS. The conclusion of this research is both treatments give influence in reducing pain and increasing the functional ability toward upper trapezius muscles FMS and there is no significant influence difference among both treatments.
