Summary:Introduction:The nutritional status canbe determined by calculating thewaist- hip ratio and body mass index as indicatorsto assess the obesity. Obesity is a lifestyle that causes levels of lipid in the blood become abnormal. High lipid levels or beyond normal level and with obesity are associated with an increase of coronary heart disease risk. Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between waist-hip ratio and body mass index and the levels of HDL and LDL in patients with coronary heart disease at Polyclinic of heart Dr. Moewardi hospital of Surakarta. Research method: This research was an observational with cross-sectional design. Subjects were CHD outpatients at the Polyclinic of heart Dr. Moewardi hospital. Sampling technique used Sequential random sampling. Statistical analysis used correlation product moment and spearman rank tests. Data on waist-hip ratio and body mass index were obtained through direct measurement. Data on HDL and LDL levelswere obtained from patents medical report. Results:The result showed that 81,8% female patients had high waist-hip ratio, 50% malepatients had high waist-hip ratio, 35,1% patients had body mass index categorized as obesity I, 64,9% patients had abnormal levels of HDL, 29,7% patients had optimal or close to optimal levels of LDL. Conclusion: There was no relationship between waist-hip ratio and the levels of HDL and LDL in outpatientswith CHD at Polyclinic of heart Dr. Moewardi hospital. There was no relationship between body mass index and the levels of HDL and LDL in CHD outpatients at Polyclinic of heart Dr. Moewardi hospital.
