Old age is seen as a period of decline, in which the elderly feel the deterioration in both the physical and psychological condition. During this period, the elderly are still able to work productively tends to be seen happier than that is not working anymore. However, in other phenomena that occur in the community showed that elderly people who are not working can still feel happy in serving his parents. This study aims to find, understand and describe the happiness of the elderly who are not working. Informants in this study has the characteristics that a) the elderly aged 60 years or older, b) do not work, c) healthy psychologically, d) domiciled in Sragen. The method used in this study is wawancarasemi structured and analyzed using software NVivo10. The results showed that the happiness of the elderly can be obtained through good health, good self-acceptance, good relations with the family and the environment, have a sense of pride in achievement in the elderly, and can always be thankful to Allah. Researchers also found that most of the happiness achieved with gratitude to Allah. Furthermore, based on the research that has been conducted shows that the happiness of the elderly who do not have different characteristics depending on each elderly. The results could be used as a reference for the formulation village outreach program targeting the general public to better know the future elderly and the pursuit of happiness in the elderly.
