A person with schizophrenia has low oral hygiene category because of their unstable psychological, thus the education program of oral hygiene need particular method in order the patient able to understand the information. The effective information method for them was by using combination of three type media: audio, visual and audiovisual media. The audio media represented by alarm for toothbrush reminder, the visual media held by a poster of how to keep the teeth health and clean, and the audiovisual showed by understandable tutorial videoabouthow to toothbrush the teeth. The purpose of the research was to find out the effect of information method using three type media combination towards oral hygiene of schizophrenia patient at mental hospital of Surakarta district. The oral hygiene degree that represent the data of the research would be analyzed by Debris Index Simplified (DI-S). 40 men of schizophrenia patient were asked to be the research‟s object, the one that calm enough to be collaborated with and have complete required teeth (16, 11, 26, 36, 31, and 46). A DI-S score was gained before a week treatment of three media information method, and compared to the score gained after the treatment. The result retrieved from Wilcoxon test showed DI-S significant score p=0,001 before and after the program, (p)<0,005 means that the information method using combination of audio, visual and audiovisual media could give positive effect towards the schizophrenia's DI-Sscore.
