| Summary: | Background: Pre-menstrual Syndrome(PMS) isacycle disorder, which is commonly occured duringthe Luteal phaseof the menstrual cycleandwilldisappearat the time ofmenstruation. 90% of womenon reproductive ages experience symptoms ofPMS and10% of them experience severe premenstrualsymptoms that cause physical activity disturbance, medicalcare necessity, even worst death.Hypertensionis arisk factor for a Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) occurence. Objective: This research was held to answer the question is there a relationshipbetweenhypertension and Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) in womenof reproductive ageinthe Jururejo Village of Ngawi District or not. ResearchMethods: The research was designedusinganalytic observational with cross-sectional approach. The number ofsurvey respondents were 104people, which consist of52womenwithhypertensionand52womenwith no-hypertension. The sampling techniqueusedpurposive sampling. Premenstrual Syndrome measurement used questionnaire, Shortened Premenstrual AssessmentForm(SPAF), that filled by therespondent directly. Data were analyzed byChi-square testwithSPSS17.0 forWindows. Results: The result showedthat thevalue ofp = 0.00(p<0,05), whichindicates thatthere is a relationship between hypertension and Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) occurence of women in reproductive age. Rasio Odd (RO) value = 6,75 it means patient with hypertension has probability of 6,75 times of having a PMS. Conclusion: There is a relationship between hypertension and Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) in womenof reproductive age at The village of Jururejo, Ngawi District |
