| Summary: | Background: Stroke is a focal or global brain dysfunction or sudden brain disorder that caused by vascular dysfunction and can cause of death for 24 hours or more. Stroke is a main cause of death for people aged 45 years or more (15,4% all of death). One of the causes of ischemic stroke is intracranial atherosclerotic. Atherosclerotic is a condition with vascular inflammatory disorder and leukocyte as a biomarker or indicator. Leukocyte count someone when he went to hospital can be a predictor for prognostic clinical outcome patient with acute ischemic stroke. Purpose: to know the relationship between leukocyte count and the prognostic of ischemic stroke in Moewardi General Hospital of Surakarta. Method: This study case used observational analytic method by cross sectional approach to know the relationship between both of them. Result: 9 from 23 patient ischemic stroke with high count leukocyte have bad prognostic, on the other hand only 1 from 23 patient ischemic stroke with normal count of leukocyte have bad prognostic. From the statistic analysis chi-square the result p = 0,004 (p < 0,05). Conclusion: there is relationship between leukocyte count and the prognostic of ischemic stroke in Moewardi General Hospital of Surakarta. |
