In general stunting can be caused due to insufficient food intake. Adequacy of energy and protein is influenced by the purchasing power of food. Household expenditure for food is one of the indicators that can describe the state of the welfare of the population. Objective : The aim of this research is to determine the correlation between the expenditure of food with the level of food intake in stunting children at Sidowarno village, District of Wonosari, Klaten. Methods : This study use an observational method with cross selection design. The volunteer in this study is stunting children aged 36 - 59 months with the respondent are their mothers. The sampling use simple random sampling were used 40 stunting. In food intake level data retrieval using 3x24 hour recall method. Whereas for food expenditure using the form of food expenditure. Data analyzing using Chi-Square test, so it can be determined whether there is a relationship and strength of the correlation between the two variable. Result : The prevalence of food expenditure on family Stunting toddler high at 55.6%, the level of energy intake for Stunting is included in good classification by 35.6 %, and the level of protein intake for stunting which is quite good at 68.9 %. Base on Chi-Square analysis for the Relationship with the food expenditure and the level of energy intake resulted in p value 0.944, while for the relationship of food expenditure with the level of protein intake resulted p value 0.428 Conclusion : There was no correlation between the expenditure of food with the level of food intake in stunting children at Sidowarno village, District of Wonosari, Klaten. | ||
