This study was aimed to evaluate the rational use of antihypertensive in inpatient pregnant women in the Hospital X 2014. This study is anobservational (non-experimental) reseach purposive sampling method, data were processed and analyzed descriptively. The samples were obtained sixty seven patients who received with antihypertensive medication that were evaluated based on right indications, right patient, right drug and right dose according to the reference standards of Queensland Health (Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy) in 2013, ADEC (the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee) and the British National Formulary (BNF) 54 2008. The result showed that 42 (62,67 %) patient were given nifedipine,11 (16,42 %) patient was given methyldopa, 1 (1.49%)patient was given propranolol There were also combination therapy of nifedipine with methyldopa which were given to 13(19,40 %) patient and one (1,49 %) patients also received a combination of nifedipine, methyldopa and furosemide . The result showed that patients who were given antyhypertensive medication with right indication and right patient were 67 patient (100 %), right drug were 38 patients (56,72%), and right dose were 54 patients (72.54%) . Only 33 (49,25%) patients were given antihypertensive medication with right indication, patient, medication and dosage, based on the standard of reference Queensland Health (Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy). Based on SPO (standard operating procedures) from Hospital X, were given antihypertensive medication with right choice of drug as many as 13 patients (19.40%) get treatment with right dru and right dosage. | ||
