Summary: | Background: Football is a sport of high intensity and intermittent activity where players are required to repeatedly perform the motion, spinning, running and jumping, which places great demands on the neuromuscular system. Therefore, the ability of lower extremity muscles to produce muscle explosive power and agility are important fitness component for football players. Plyometrics training has proven to be an effective method to increase the ability to run and jump. Lateral bound is plyometrics exercises that use a single pedestal with maximum blast, with a horizontal trajectory, and done repeatedly. The provision of proper exercise, programmed, and regularly can improve the physical components that correspond to the sport branch. Aims of Research: To determine the effect of exercise on the bound lateral leg muscle explosive power and agility football players aged 10-14 years. Results: Statistical test using the Wilcoxon test values obtained significant p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Exercise bound to give effect lateral leg muscle explosive power (8.84%) and agility (5:39%). Research Method: This study used a pre-experimental, with pre and post test approach one group design. The number of samples in this study 18 samples. How to sampling using purposive sampling method. Muscle explosive power measurement instruments with a vertical jump and agility with ilinois agility test. Result: Statistical test using the Wilcoxon test values obtained significant p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Exercise bound to give effect lateral leg muscle explosive power (8.84%) and agility (5:39%). Conclusion: There is a positive effect of exercise giving lateral bound to increase explosive power leg muscle (8.84%) and agility (5:39%). Keywords: Plyometrics, Exercise Lateral Bound, Vertical Jump, Ilinois Agility Test. |
