| Summary: | This research has two goals. The first is to describe the word meaning of Indonesia Language, which is different with the word meaning of Pattani Melayu Language which is uttered by Thailand students in Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The second, finding the intention in word meaning of Indonesia Language which is uttered by Thailand students in Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The research source comes from the utterances of Thailand students in Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta in form of sentences and different words utterances. The data collection method of research is speech method, interviewing, and recording. The first, researcher monitoring the utterances by students then identified the meaning of sentences which has different word, and then classified to analyze it. The data analysis use in this research is padan method and contrastive analysis method. The result in this research has two. The first, words between Pattani and Indonesia language is difference. There are 24 difference words found between Indonesian Language and Melayu Pattani Language. The second is the words in Indonesian Language have a large meaning than Melayu Pattani language. There are some similarity meaning in Pattani meaning, such as: anak, bual, buruk, celaka, jeruk, kepala, langsung, and rapat. The eight words which has similarity meaning from twelve words, but it has large meaning in Indonesian Language, and the words in Melayu Pattani has a large meaning found 14 words which same meaning with Indonesian Language. In every utterance is not always has same meaning, a half of word has same meaning; such as; angin, buku, darat, ingat, jaman, kasar, maja, mani, meninggal, sampul, sayur, suka, and surat, it makes the meaning more closed in Indonesian Language than in Melayu Pattani. |
