Summary:This research aims to investigate and describe the effectivenes of winds storm material handbook by using Talking Stick strategy at SMA Negeri 1 Klaten. The writer uses quantitative research, quantitative research is program of experimental research. Population used all of the students who follows extracurricular Sekolah Siaga Bencana (SSB) with the amount 40 students, divided into 2 classes, 20 students in class experiment and 20 students in class control using systematic sampling. Learning in class experiment used Talking Stick strategy, whereas class control used Conventional method or speech/explaining. The data shows that students knowledge before using Talking Stick strategy in the learning result as follows; class experiment in average of score Pre Test is 66,36 and then class control with average score Pre Test is 48,18. Based on the learning result, the average score of Post Test in class experiment is 82,27, and then Post Test in class control is 62,73. Based on the result of Post Test from class experiment and class control shows the improvement of students learning result. Students knowledge level after using Talking Stick strategy showed by learning result of class experiment has increasing about 15,91 and class control is about 14,55. So, the use of learning with Talking Stick strategy is more increase students knowledge than the use of Conventional method or speech/explaining.
