Summary:Background. Patients chronic kidney disease who are in end-stage kidney function requiring replacement therapy such as kidney transplantation, dialysis such as hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy experienced a few problems that can result in patient non-compliance. Patient compliance in performing hemodialysis therapy is necessary and required to support the quality of life of patients themselves. The quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure declining because patients do not only face health problem but also a problem of therapy that will last a lifetime, as a result the quality of life of patient who undergo hemodialysis therapy was lower than that of other diseases. Research purposes. This study aims to determine the relationship between adherence to undergo hemodialysis therapy and quality of life for patients with chronic kidney disease in the Hospital Dr. Moewardi. Research methods. This research is a quantitative study using cross sectional approach. The study population was all patients with chronic renal failure on hemodialysis therapy program that runs in the hemodialysis Hospital Dr. Moewardi in November 2015. The sample was 59 patients with consecutive sampling technique. The research instrument with a questionnaire. Analysis of the data in this study using Spearman. Research result. Based on the test results showed that the variable compliance Spearman undergoing hemodialysis therapy no association with quality of life (p-value = 0.021). Conclusion. The conclusion in this study is there is a relationship between adherence to undergo hemodialysis therapy and quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease. More adherent patient in performing hemodialysis therapy, the quality of life will increase.
