Program nursing profession is continuing education programs to prepare nursing students have special expertise. Not all students of nursing program nursing profession caused by want to work fast, cost factors and motivation.Motivation is an impulse or driving force for people to do something. Interests and perceptions of factors including motivation to follow the professional program that builds on the knowledge and experience of other people they get.This study aims to determine the relationship between interest and perception of the motivation to continue nursing student nurses at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This research is aimed correlation connecting two or more variables. The study samples are all students of VIII semester of undergraduate nursing program at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta as many as 86 students with a total sampling technique. Collecting data using questionnaires and data analysis using the Spearman rank correlation test. Research results Spearman rank correlation relationship interests with motivation obtained (rs) amounted to 0,300 with significance value (p) 0,005 so H0 is rejected and the relationship of perception and motivation acquired (rs) of 0.325 with a significance value (p) of 0.002 so that H0 , Conclusions there is a relationship between interest nurses continue to motivate students, and there is a relationship between perceptions of motivation to continue nursing student nurses Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta.Suggestions introduce ners profession since the beginning students attend undergraduate and entering nursing courses as well as conducting trainings nurses who can be useful to support student career.
