The purpose of this research is to determine quality of art paper from salacca midribs fibers (tensile strength, tear strength, and sensory test) by treatment with NaOH and long ripening. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) two factors. Factor 1 is the concentration of NaOH (K), K0 : without NaOH, K1 : 10%, K2 : 15%. Factor 2 is long ripening (L), L1 (60 minutes), L2 (120 minutes). The highest treatment result at treatment K1L1 (Concentration NaOH 10% and long ripening at 60 minutes) the average of tensile resistance 0,665 N/mm2. The highest of tear strength at treatment K1L2 (Concentration NaOH 10% and long ripening at 120 minutes) 25,3796 N. The highest result of surface texture and appearance of fibers at treatment K0L2 (without NaOH and long ripening at 120 minutes) and K0L1 (without NaOH and long ripening at 60 minutes). Art paper whose the most preferred is the treatment K1L2 (Concentration NaOH 10% and long ripening at 120 minutes)
