Summary: | Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, also known as Tardi Median Nerve Palsy is a collection of signs and symptoms due to compression of the median nerve cavity or carpal tunnel, precisely under the flexor retinaculum, usually causing tingling, numbness and sometimes pain distributed median nerve wrist, Aim: To determine the effect of ultrasound (US) and exercise therapy on reducing pain in both hands dextra and sinistra, increased range of motion both wrist, wrist flexors strength and functional activity in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) bilateral. Results: After treatment for 6 times the results obtained pain assessment silent wrist of the left T0: 4 to T6: 1, painful motion of the wrist of the left T1: 5 to T6: 3, wrist dextra T1: 3 to T6: 2, tender wrist of the left T1 : 4 to T6: 3, increased range of motion of the left wrist active S: T1: 40-0-45 be T6: 40-0-50, passive S: T1: 45-0-50 be T6: 45-0-55 , active range of motion dextra S: T1: 45-0-75 be T6: 45-0-80, passive S: T1: 50-0-80 be T6: 50-0-85, an increase of the left wrist extensor muscle strength T1 : 4 to T6: 5, flexor wrist dextra T1: 4 to T6: 5, increased functional activity of the joint wrist of the left T1: 33 (heavy dependence) into T6: 19 (dependency medium), wrist dextra T1: 21 (dependency medium) into T6: 12 (light dependency). Conclusion: Ultrasound (US) and exercise therapy free carpal tunnel exercise and resisted active exercise can reducing pain, increasing muscle strength, increasing range of motion and functional activities of CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) problems.
