ABSTRACT THE COPING STRATEGY OF FEMALE TEENAGERS WHO CONSUME ALCOHOL The purpose of this research was to reveal and to know the coping strategy of female teenagers who consume alcohol. The sampling was conducted through purposive sampling. The amount of informants in this research was four female teenagers with the characteristics: The coping strategy of female teenagers who consume alcohol, who live in Surakarta and their age was 21-22 years old. This research used a qualitative method with the method of data collection used interview and observation and analyzed descriptively. The results of the research revealed that: 1. The coping strategy derived from the environment, from themselves, and from outside to solve a problem. 2. Being able to respond to the change in a stressed condition to be better. 3. Being able to face pressure 4. Giving a positive effect in the form of physical power in individual. 5. It was revealed some factors influencing the coping strategy of female teenagers who consume alcohol which covered: an intention to be better, to get social support, and to have better or positive friends.
