520 |a This study was conducted to answer the question: whether the composition of mathematics items in the first semester of the final semester test on grade VIII of Junior Hight School in Sukoharjo Regency in 2015/2016 has been developed based taxonomy TIMSS? This research is aimed to describe the composition of mathematics items in the first semester of the final semester test on grade VIII of Junior Hight School in Sukoharjo Regency in 2015/2016according to the dimension of content, cognitive, and cognitive aspects on TIMSS taxonomy. The type of this research is evaluative qualitative. The object of this research is the item in the mathematic first semester final exaintion on grade VIII of Junior Hight School in Sukoharjo Regency in 2015/2016. The techniques of collecting the data are documentation and interview. Data validation is done by the triangulation method by comparing the data received from documenting and interviewing. The data analysis technique is done through some steps of data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The research results show that considering the dimention of content, 57,14% of the items can be included in the domain of algebra, 25,72% of the item can be included in the domain of geometry, 17,14% of the items can be included in the domain of data and chance, and there is no item that can be included in the domain of number. Previewed from the domain of cognitive, 47,22% of the items can be included in the domain of knowing, 47,22% of the items can be included in the domain of applying and 5,56% of the items can be included in the domain of reasoning. Viewed from the cognitive aspects under the domain of knowing, 22,22% of the items can be included the aspects of recall, compute, retrieve, classify/order with the value of 7,41% respectively and 5,56% can be included the aspect of recognice, and there is no item related to the aspect of measure cognitive. Considered from the cognitive aspect under the domain of applying, 22,22% of the items contain the aspect of implement cognitive, 14,81% of the item contain the aspect of determine cognitive, and 7,41% of the items contain the aspect of represent/model cognitive. Considered from the cognitive aspects under the domain of reasoning, 3,71% of items contain the aspect of analyze cognitive, and 1,85% of the items contain the generalize cognitive.
