Summary:The purpose of this study were: 1) to increase the activity of learning through the implementation of strategies IPS Student Teams Avhievement Divisions in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Klaten Ngawen Drono School Year 2015/2016, 2) to improve learning outcomes through the implementation of strategies IPS Student Teams in Divisions Avhievement fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Klaten Ngawen Drono Academic Year 2015/2016. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The study was conducted for 2 cycles or 4 meetings. Research subjects were teachers and students as many as 25 students. Data collection techniques by using observation, interview, test and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation and triangulation methods and content validity. The process of data analysis includes penggumpulan of data, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed an increase in activity of learning and learning outcomes IPS graders V. Results obtained by studying the activity indicators: 1) students are active in an opinion by 8% (pre-cycle), 44% (first cycle), to 82% (cycle II), (2) students actively ask for 32% (pre-cycle), 60% to (first cycle), 88% (cycle II), (3) active student answered the question by 36% (pre-cycle), 58% ( the first cycle) to 88% in cycle II), (4) active student explains the material on the group by 24% (pre-cycle), 48% (first cycle), to 78% (second cycle). While the study results obtained increased from 54.9% (pre-cycle), 66.6% (cycle) and 83.6% (second cycle). It can be concluded that the implementation of the strategy Student Teams Achievement Divisions can enhance the activity of social studies and the results of social studies in grade 5 student of SD 2 Drono Ngawen public school Klaten Academic Year 2015/2016.
