Summary

Hypertension is a degenerative disease that became one cause of death in the world. This is evident from the data of WHO (2013), which shows that in America the incidence of hypertension in adults in 2010-2012 around 39-51%. In Indonesia, the number of hypertensive patients estimated 15 million people, but only 4% which is controlled hypertensive patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship diet, exercise,and sleep habits with hypertension in district Donorojo Pacitan. This research method using a non-experimental design with case control approach, where the total sample of 100, consisting of 50 cases and 50 controls. The research variable is hypertension, diet, exercise, sleep habits. The statistical test using chi square test showed that diet OR= 3,128; CI 95%= 0,314 until 31,142; p= 0,617, sport OR=1,690; CI 95%= 0,740 until 3,857; p= 0,211) not significant and sleep habits value OR= 2,452; CI 95%= 0,999 until 6,018; p= 0,047) significant but not necessarily a risk factor the incidence of hypertension in district Donorojo Pacitan.
