Summary:Indonesia's involvement in the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is one of the efforts to see the extent to which the success of the education program Indonesia compared with other countries in the world. This study aims to produce about TIMSS field Algebra valid and practical. The method used in this research is the development of research methods. This study requires two stages: preliminary and formative stages of evaluation that includes self evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, and a field test. Data collection techniques used by walktrough, document, test, and interview. Once through the stage of one-to-one, small group, and validation descriptive matter tested on the stage of field tests in class VIII SMP N 2 F Sawit. The test results overall with The mean value of the mathematical reasoning abilities of 70, included in the category of good reasoning ability. However, these results can also be said that a similar problem developed TIMSS considered valid and practical criteria and have a potential effect on students' mathematical reasoning
