Summary

Background: Kicking a ball in a soccer game is one of the components of the main basic techniques that must be mastered by soccer players. To produce a hard shot so that the ball can move far forward requiring strength and power are large enough. Leg muscle strength is needed by a player and all the players are in need of these components. Objective: To determine the relationship between leg muscle strength with ability of kicking a ball in the soccer game of students in SMA N 1 Karangtengah Demak. Methods: This research was using observational research with cross-section approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, as many as 50 respondents. Measuring tool research using the questionnaire sheet, Leg Dynamometer, and measure to ability of kicking a ball by way of kicking a ball away. Results: From statistic analysis to correlation between leg muscle strength with ability of kicking a ball showed r value = -0.074 and significance value 0.304 > 0.05. Conclusion: There is no relationship between leg muscle strength with ability of kicking a ball in the soccer game of students in SMA N 1 Karangtengah Demak.
