This research is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects were 7 students of class VIII G at SMP Negeri 1 Gatak. The data collection technique using the test method, interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis technique conducted in stages of data reduction, data presentation, verification and conclusion drawing. The analytical framework developed by stages Polya method. Polya method is a method of settlement with the four steps is to understand the problem, devise a solution, implement the settlement plan and look back. The results of research were the stage of devise a solution more dominant than the other stages with the type of error principle is errors in the use of the formula. In general, the causes of the mistakes made by the students is that students are not using the correct formula and low ability students in interpreting the data.
