Description
Summary:This training aims to determine the effectiveness of Emotion Regulation to reduce stress levels in elderly. Reseach participants are elderly people who inhabit Panti Wredha Dharma Bakhti Surakarta, a total of 18 participants. The method used in this study is an experimental method. Methods of data collection using the Perceived Stress Scale, interviews and observations. The results of hypothesis by using test analysis friedman test found is known Asymp. Sig 0.000 (p<0,05), to determine whether there is a difference of pre, post, follow-up of the experimental group. These results indicate a significant difference before and after being given treatment. Accordingly the results of the training of emotion regulation effectively reduce stress in the elderly In addition the test results using the Mann Whitney U test, to post test experimental group and the control group with Z at -2 .135 with Asymp.Sig 0.033 (P <0.05) with Z at -2 .135 and Asymp.Sig 0.033 (P <0.05), thus the results indicated that there were significant differences between post test experimental group and post test control group. Whereas results of the hypothesis, using the Mann Whitney U Test, to test follow-up of the experimental group and the control group with Z at -1, 993 and Asymp. Sig. 0.046 (P <0.05), These results indicate a significant difference between follow-up experimental group and follow-up control group. Based on the results of data analysis, we can conclude that the training of emotion regulation can effectively reduce stress levels in elderly that high category fall into the moderate category and the category of being dropped to a low stress.
