Summary:The population continued to increase so that human activity also increased, resulting in increased volume and type of waste. Inappropriate waste management is not able to reduce the increase of volume of garbage. Land limitations often encountered in the development of facilities and infrastructure capable of supporting such waste management Landfills (LANDFILL) in Temanggung.This research aims to: 1) analyze the suitability of land for the location of the LANDFILL in Temanggung; 2) compare the analysis result of landfill suitability location with an opinions according to landfill location. Methods used in this research is a surveymethod with a purposive sampling to analyze the level of productivity of the land use classesEach land use class surveyed as consideration of LANDFILL alternative locations. The collection of primary data is also done with theinterview techniques to find out the opinions of society towards an alternative location of the landfill. Data analysis with binary quantitative approach assume that land class into suitable and non suitable. Land suitability forlandfill at Kabupaten Temanggung spread at Kranggan districk, Kaloran, districk Kandangan, districk Pringsurat, districk Candiroto, districk Gemawang, and Bejen districk. Response community who agree to an alternative Landfill site on the appropriate class as much as 56,7% and in class is not appropriate as much as 13,3%. While the response of the community who do not agree to an alternative landfill site on the approppriate class as much as 10% and 20% in class is not appropriate.
