520 |a Background: Aerobic exercise is an exercise that illustrates how well the ability to take in oxygen feom the atmosphere into the lungs and then the blood and pumping it through the heart to the muscles work in which oxygen is used to oxidize carbohydrates and fat to produce energy. With aerobic exercise we will see some changes, namely increased cardiac output, maximum heart rate unchanged and increased stroke volume, with this we can eliminate heart rate as a causal factor in enhancing VO2 max.VO2 max is very influential on person body mass index calculated for fitness per unit of weight, if increased fat fitness will decline. The Objective of Research: To know the effect of aerobic exercise and body mass index on the improvement VO2 max at student of junior high school 2 Gatak. The Benefit of Research: It could know the effect of aerobic exercise and body mass index on the improvement VO2 max at student of junior high school 2 Gatak. The Method of Research: This research type was a pre experimental with one group pretest and posttest, which samples at student of junior high school 2 Gatak given treatment that aerobic exercise fo 4 weeks with a frequency of 3 times a week and measure BMI ad VO2 max measuring devices 3 minutes step test. Data were analyzed technique using shapiro wilk test for normality test and wilcoxon test to test the effect. Result of the Research: The data obtained is not normally distributed, statistical test using the shapiro wilk test. There is an effect of aerobic exercise on body mass index (BMI) at students of junior high school 2 gatak after imposition wilcoxon test is obtained p-value of 0,001. Tere is an effect of aerobic exercise to increase VO2 max at students of junior high school 2 gatak after the wilcoxon test is obtained p-value of 0,000. Conclusion: There is an effect of aerobic exercise and body mass index (BMI) on the improvement VO2 max at students of junior high school 2 Gatak.
