| Summary: | Motivation of parents is a boost to their children how to be enthusiasm to improve achievement. Strong motivation can make children able to achieve something,because the attention and motivation of the parents will be useful for child's learning activities. With the motivation, the children will be encouraged to be more enthusiasm in learning. This is why the motivation of parents is required in the world of learning, especially in science of religion. What is motivation for the parents to sent their children to Al-Qolam Muhammadiyah Junior Hight School of Gemolong grade VII school year 2016/2017. Accordingly, this study aims to determine and describe the parent motivation to send their children in Muhammadiyah Al-Qolam Junior High School of Gemolong in the school year 2016/2017. This is a research field research or field-based research, where the researches interact and directly research to get obtain valid and accurate data as needed about motivation of parents to send their children in Muhammadiyah Al-Qolam Junior High School of Gemolong. Data are collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data are analyzed with descriptive qualitative method. Based on the result, we concluded that intrinsic motivation is owned by the parents, among others alguiring religious knowledge and general science, being faithful, being shalih and shalihah children, and building characteristics of akhlakul karimah. Moreover, the parents want their kids to have good cognitive ability, have a responsibility in learning and discipline of worship, get school facilities which support children's learning, hare Islamic life skills, and insight of Islam, get enough guidance and counseling. Besides, the parents hope their children to have a good future in term of academic, being smart kids, and getting best achievement. Extrinsic motivations that affect the elderly, among others: are the quality of education and educators were nice, the curriculum as parent wishes, and the interest of children in accordance with the applied education in Muhammadiyah Al-Qolam Junior High School of Gemolong. |
