Description
Summary:Background: when in front of a computer in a static position and overload long periods causes muscle tension. One risk of muscle damage on these activities, namely upper trapezius. Upper trapezius muscle contraction that continues over time become a trigger trigger points at the junction bands that will cause myofascial pain syndrome. Objective: To determine the effect of neuromuscular taping applications (NMT) in the upper trapezius myofascial syndrome to decrease tenderness and increased range of motion of the neck. Method: This research used is quasi exsperimental (quasi-experimental) by using pre and post test with control group design. Respondents of this study as many as 26 people were divided into two groups. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test and Paired Sample T Test and Independent Sample T Test. Results: The test results influence of pain between the treatment groups was obtained p-value 0.0001 then there is the influence of neuromuscular taping applications (NMT) to decrease tenderness and the control group was obtained p-value 0.648 then there is no effect. While the difference obtained p-value of 0.005 so that we can conclude there are differences in the provision of neuromuscular taping applications (NMT) to decrease the upper trapezius myofascial pain syndrome. The result of the influence of lateral flexion movement ROM right and left as well as right and left rotation in the treatment group have influence. While the influence of different test lateral flexion movement of the left and right rotation shows differences Award neuromuscular taping applications (NMT) to increase upper trapezius myofascial syndrome ROM. Conclusion: Delivery of neuromuscular taping applications (NMT) in the upper trapezius myofascial syndrome proved to decrease tenderness and increased range of motion of the neck.
