Background. Complications are common in diabetes mellitus is diabetic foot ulcers. The incidence of diabetic foot ulcers still very high. Not only in developed countries but also in developing countries. Diabetes mellitus causes the occurrence of leg amputations in patients with diabetes mellitus. In Indonesia 80 % that need treatment is diabetic foot ulcers. Prevention of diabetic foot ulcers actually is very simple in order that to avoid amputation, but often neglected. Prevention can be done are obedience to control glucose blood levels through discipline of diet and exercise, prevention of diabetic foot wounds according to instructions. Effective foot care can prevent the risk of diabetic foot ulcers and amputation. Other than that people with diabetes need to be screened by create the assessment format to categorize the risk of diabetic foot ulcers until the follow-up treatment of diabetic foot according to the classification. The Purpose Of The Research. The purpose of this study is to knowing the correlation of knowledge diabetic foot ulcers level with prevention behaviors of the occurrence of diabetic foot ulcers to patients diabetes mellitus at Persadia Hospital Dokter Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. Research Methods. The type of research is descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. This is the quantitative research. The subjects of this study are 41 patients with diabetes mellitus without diabetic foot ulcers and using purposive sampling. Data analysis was using Spearman Rank test with a significance level (α = 0.05) obtained P value of 0.001 (p <0.05) so that Ho refused and Ha accepted. Conclusion. The conclusion of this research is that there is a correlation between of knowledge diabetic foot ulcers level with prevention behaviors of the occurrence of diabetic foot ulcers to patients diabetes mellitus at Persadia Hospital Dokter Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten.
