This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research is the principal and classroom teacher IV A SD Negeri 1 Peleman Sragen. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study is the reduction, presentation and conclusion. Mechanical examination of the validity of data using a triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the implementation of thematic learning in class IV A in SD Negeri 1 Peleman Sragen has been good enough. It is seen from the planning stage, the teacher has prepared lesson plans used in teaching, but not all of the components listed. While the implementation of learning, using a scientific approach by combining multiple subjects in a material. In this stage of the assessment made in the form of teacher performance assessment, portfolio assessment and a written test. Obstacles in the implementation of thematic learning include teacher planning constraints caused less set up time, so that learning can not be allocated in one day. So that the activities also have problems like activity observed that learning objects difficult to be provided, the activities ask such students are not accustomed to process and express opinions, activities of reasoning that is less attention to teachers' notes, activities to try that if the materials used are hard to find and experiment conducted harm then the experiment is not done, and activity is limited time to form networks to communicate. In addition the ratings are to many aspects to be assessed.
