The purpose of this study to investigate the effects of diuretics on the ethanol extract of the leaves jarak tintir in Wistar male rats. Thirty rats were divided into six treatment groups, CMC Na 0,5% as normal controls, urea 1g/kgBW, furosemide 20mg/kgBW and the ethanol extract of jarak tintir leaves at a dose of 200mg/kgBW, 800mg/kgBW, and 3200mg/kgBW. After being given the treatment is given 50 mL/KgBW NaCl 0.9%. Furthermore AUC1-5 and AUC1-24 value was calculated and analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test followed Least Significance Different (LSD). The cumulative urine volume on hour-1-5 and 1-24 to calculated the value Lipschitz. Results AUC1-5 the ethanol extract of jarak tintir leaves dose of 800mg/kgBW can increase urine volume compared with normal control of 76.74%. The ethanol extract of jarak tintir leaves dose of 800mg/kgBW increase AUC1-5 value compared to normal controls, but the increase of value AUC1-5 smaller than urea. Lipschitz value extract dose of 200mg/kgBW, 800mg/kgBW, and 3200mg/KgBW less than 1, so it does not have a diuretic effect.
