| Summary: | Diabetes mellitus (DM) is currently one of the leading causes of death in the world. Stress experienced by people with diabetes due to changes in lifestyle such as diet meal arrangements, restrictive eating, and others so that the quality of life is reduced. Problem formulation of this research that is there is relation between stress level with quality of life of Diabetes Mellitus patient in working area of Gajahan Health Center Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon Kota Surakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between stress and quality of life of diabetic patients in Puskesmas Gajahan Surakarta. This study used a crosssectional approach. The samples in this study were 59 patients with DM. Sampling technique with accidental sampling. Collecting data using questionnaires. Based on this research, it was concluded: (1) Quality of life of diabetic patients in health centers Surakarta Gajahan majority belongs to the category quite well. Respondents have been able to adjust to that living with diabetes; (2) The stress level of DM patients in health centers Surakarta majority Gajahan including lightweight category. Respondents are able to accept his situation affected by DM and getting used to the lifestyle eating abstinence; (3) There is a significant relationship between the level of stress and quality of life of diabetic patients. The results of the bivariate analysis shows that there is a relationship between stress levels with quality of life of diabetic patients. Suggestion given by researcher that is; The importance of supporting facilities and infrastructure in the process of handling stress levels on the quality of life of diabetes mellitus disease.
