Summary

This study aims to determine how the comparison of character education PesantrenDarusySyahdah with PondokPesantrenTa'mirul Islam. Subjects in this study include all students, students activities, and models character education given by the teacher at the boarding school. This study have used qualitativemethode, ie direct observation spaciousness (Observation) and interviews open to the resource, so that the data obtained will be detailed through the records in the form of documents or photo progress. The results showed that the model comparison character education boarding school DarusySyahadah with Ta'mirul Islamic boarding school is in terms of the way the planting of character education students. Character education PondokPesantrenDarusySyahadah instill character education by Multicultural it means of teaching in the classroom and outside the classroom, while the character education boarding school Tamirul Islam instills character education Self-Potential it means through teacher who not only facilitate, but the inspiration, evaluators, supervisors, mentors and friends and rely more freedom and potential students reasoning itself. Potential models of character education is more easily done by the students because they see firsthand examples of characters that are taught by teachers. It can be seen from the everyday students in demonstrating the character inside and out of the boarding school. Researchers are expected to be used as a reference for future research to determine how to embed effective character education. Keywords: Boarding School, Character Education
