Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Juni, 2017. This research has three objectives, (1) describes grammatical cohesion that is highlighted in the national rubric of the tempo newspaper, (2) describes the lexical cohetion that is highlighted in the national rubric of the tempo newspaper, (3) presents the implication of the national rubric as an Indonesia learning resource. This research uses qualitative. The research started from February 28 until june 6, 2017. The research data in the form of grammatical and lexical cohetion taken from data source of tempo newspaper of March 2017 edition. To collect the data, the research uses refer and note techniques. To analize the data in this research using the method of agih and mark reading techniques. There are three research results of this research. First, in this research found 89 data consisting of 37 designation, 33 replacements, 14 series, and 5 impirints. Second, there are 27 lexicalcohetion data consisting of 9 repetitions, 7 antonyms, 5 synonims, 3 collocations, and 3 hyponimi. As for the third, the result of grammatical and lexical cohetion research is used as a teaching material for news text at SMA X KTSP in accordance with SK. Speaking 2 Ekspressing thoughts, feelings, and information through activities of meeting, discussing, and telling stories and KD. 2.2 discuss the problem (found from various news, articles, or books).
