| Özet: | Abstract The purpose of this research is to understand first-year studying experience of English Department Students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This research used Phenomenology. Sample of the research is from English Department Student who have done studying in two semesters at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Method of collecting data used interview approach. The result of this research is the student got obstacle in her first-year studying, that are: 1) adjustment to New Environment. 2) Academic Adjustment. 3) Dissapointment on Campus Facility.
