It reports on the analysis of translation procedures found in different language functions in dialogues in the Twilight novel. This research employed a qualitative case study on a textual analysis of translation work. The data were collected dialogues taken from the novel which were identified and classified based on language functions (Buhler) and then analyzed based on translation procedures (Newmark, 1988: 81). The study reveals that there are 3205 dialogues of the novel in which 320 samples (10%) of the dialogues were taken to be analyzed. The findings revealed that the language functions found in the novel dialogues were 171 (53, 44%) expressive functions, 68 (21, 25%) informative functions, and 81 (25, 31%) vocative functions. After classifying the procedures into each language functions, it was revealed that the translation procedure mostly found in all of language function was literal procedure. There were 95 (55, 56%) in expressive functions; 27 (39, 70%) in informative functions and 43 (53, 08%) in vocative functions. Based on the research, a translator should use literal procedure in each language function in novel dialogues in order to produce accurate and clear translation. Furthermore, the translation also fulfills some of characteristics of a good translation such as easily understood, preserve the original text's character of the style and manner, and represent the closest natural equivalent of the text.
