This is classroom action research which also identifies students' response toward the use of audio visual aid in teaching speaking. The types of audio visual were used in this research are video and short film. The research was conducted at one of the senior high school in Bandung. The subjects of the research were 43 eleventh grade students. There were three cycles in the classroom action research which consist of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data were gained through observation, test, questionnaire, and interview. The result of the research shows that there was improvement of students' speaking skill and the progress of their behavior in class during learning and teaching process. The data from observation show that students were involved actively in the learning process. Furthermore, from the test, it shows that audio visual aid helps students in improving their speaking skill. Students' response toward the use of audio visual aid ascertained through questionnaire reveals that they felt audio visual aid such as video and film can encourage them to learn and make them understand the material better. In addition, the data from interview show that the use of audio visual aid can stimulate them to speak in the class and become the role model for their speaking. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the teachers who use audio visual aid in the class should be well prepared and well organized before using it in delivering material. So it can make teaching and learning process more effective. Then, teachers should design interesting activities that can motivate and enable the students to practice the material more in the class.
