520 |a Entitled, The Translation Method Used by Femmy Syahrani in Translating Collocations in The Novel "To Kill a Mockingbird", this paper aims to find out the translation methods used in translating collocation contained in the novel. This paper also tries to find a difficulty in translating collocation. The research applied a descriptive qualitative method. The research was conducted by collecting the data of collocation from the novel then analyzed it. The data was categorized based on Newmark's translation method. From the research, the writer found that literal translation method is the most frequent method applied in translating collocation. It covers 51% of the total number of collocation found. The second highest distribution of translation method used is communicative translation which covers 38% of the total collocation. Other method is free translation which contributed in translating 9% of the total collocation. The word for word translation covers only 1% and also faithful translation only cover 1% of the collected data.
