Perubahan paradigma pengelolaan perpustakaan menyoroti pentingnya implementasi teknologi dan praktik baru pada layanan perpustakaan, sehingga perpustakaan dapat menjadi lingkungan belajar yang suportif dan dapat diandalkan untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Akan tetapi beberapa pemustaka mungkin terhambat saat menggunakan sumberdaya dan layanan perpustakaan karena mengalami kecemasan perpustakaan atau library anxiety. Hasil studi prapenelitian yang mengindikasikan pemustaka di Perpustakaan UPI mengalami kecemasan perpustakan, serta rekomendasi dari peneliti sebelumnya untuk meneliti kecemasan perpustakaan pada kelompok dengan nilai sosial-budaya yang berbeda menggunakan AQAK Library Anxiety Scale, merupakan hal-hal yang mendorong dilakukanya penelitian tentang kondisi dan langkah-langkah kecemasan perpustakaan pada pemustaka di Perpustakaan UPI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden penelitian ini merupakan 100 mahasiswa S1 UPI Kampus Bumi Siliwangi Angkatan 2022 yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Kecemasan perpustakaan dikalangan pemustaka Perpustakaan UPI diukur menggunakan AQAK Library Anxiety Scale. Asesmen kecemasan perpustakaan ini terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pengumpulan data, pengolahan, analisis, dan interpretasi data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini diantaranya adalah nilai mean kecemasan perpustakaan responden sebesar 2,89, yang artinya secara umum responden mengalami kecemasan ringan. secara spesifik, diketahui pula bahwa kecemasan ringan yang dialami responden ditemukan disemua dimensi kecemasan perpustakaan. The paradigm shift in library management highlights the importance of implementing new technologies and practices in library services, so that libraries can become a supportive and reliable learning environment to improve student academic achievement. However, some users may be hampered when using library resources and services due to library anxiety. The results of pre-research studies that indicate users at UPI Library experience library anxiety, as well as recommendations from previous researchers to examine library anxiety in groups with different socio-cultural values using the AQAK Library Anxiety Scale, are things that encourage research on the conditions and measures of library anxiety in users at UPI Library. The research method used is a descriptive survey with a quantitative approach. The respondents of this study were 100 S1 students of UPI Bumi Siliwangi Campus Class of 2022 who were determined using proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. Library anxiety among UPI Library users was measured using the AQAK Library Anxiety Scale. This library anxiety assessment consists of 4 stages, namely planning, data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of data, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained from this study include the mean value of respondents' library anxiety of 2.89, which means that in general respondents experience mild anxiety.
