520 |a This study was aimed at getting description of the way English teachers design instructional plan and the difficulties encountered while they were designing instructional plan. Furthermore, it tried to offer the alternatives which can assist them against the difficulties. This descriptive research used case study as the frame work to describe the phenomenon within the implementation process of KTSP. The respondents of this study were English teachers from three Junior High Schools at different cluster which certainly have been implementing KTSP. From the analysis using the context of instructional planning in KTSP and Dick and Reiser (1996), it was found that some respondents could accomplish the complete and systematic instructional plan. However, the respondents revealed that they faced some difficulties in designing the instructional plan which was resulted from the lack of knowledge, socialization and training, and schools' facility. The study also discovered that to deal with those difficulties, the respondents needed support and assistance from some related parties. Those support and assistance were expected to help them to overcome the difficulties in order to give a better teaching service.
